PETER PAN AUGUST 23-27, 2007
Directed by Juna Broome
LLT and our corporate sponsor Howard Industries
present the Broadway musical PETER PAN
The story of Peter Pan, the boy who would not grow up, has delighted audiences for over 100 years. First written by J. M. Barrie as a stage play in 1904, this tale was adapted into an animated film by Disney and then a popular musical production. The musical featured Mary Martin. It opened on October 20, 1954 and ran for 152 performances. In that memorable tale, Peter Pan whisks Wendy Darling and her brothers Michael and John, off to Neverland:"Second star to the right, then straight on 'til morning."
The enchanted island is home to Peter Pan, the Lost Boys, Tiger Lily, and the scheming Captain Hook. Song highlights include "I Gotta Crow", "I'm Flying", "I Won't Grow Up", "Neverland", "Ugg-a-Wugg", and "Hook's Waltz". This timeless masterpiece will touch, inspire, dazzle, and charm every generation.

HARVEY NOVEMBER 8-11, 2007
Directed by Cynthia Welborn Assisted by Gerald Wansley
Elwood P. Dowd is a gentle eccentric who talks with an invisible 6-foot rabbit named Harvey. As the plays evolves, Harvey becomes very real, not only to the audience, but to the characters in the play. This lighthearted drama seems to say that reality becomes what we believe it to be.
It won the Pulitzer Prize after its initial run on Broadway in the 1940s and then in 1950 was made into the famous movie starring Jimmy Stewart. This is LLT's third presentation of the old comedy. Our 1986 production starred Laurel's own Parker Posey before she went off to Hollywood and Broadway fame.

CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF FEBRUARY 14-17, 2008
Directed by Amanda Hall
The Tennessee Williams classic is a must see for all theatre lovers. A family celebrates the birthday of a rich plantation owner and head of the house, Big Daddy. The tone is upbeat, but the mood is somber, for a number of evils poison the gaiety. This is Big Daddy's last birthday as he has cancer and everyone except him knows it. There is no will and no heir to "the richest land south of the Delta", and each family member is fighting for their share.
Who will stay on top of this hot tin roof?

ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE APRIL 11-12-13, 18-19, 2008
Directed by Wess Hughes
Yeeeeee Haw! We're bringin' back LLT's biggest hit ever! In our 47 year history, this is the show that holds the record for the most performances and largest audience numbers. Director Wess Hughes has talked his favorite trio of gals into comin' back to do one more round of this rip-roarin', knee-slappin', belly-laughin' musical. It's based on the true story of Patsy Cline's friendship with Houston housewife Louise Seger back in 1961. The show's title was inspired by Patsy's letters to Louise, which were consistently signed, "Love ALWAYS...Patsy Cline."
Missy Sanderson will be back on our stage as Patsy, along with Catherine Nowicki as her funny sidekick, Louise. A whole new cast of singers and dancers will be featured in a pre-show country talent hour. Musical Director Michelle Howells will be onstage along with the fiddles and steel guitars as the band works through 27 of Patsy's famous ole songs like "Walkin' After Midnight", "I Fall To Pieces", "Crazy", and "Sweet Dreams".
Don't miss this one, y'all!

This will be an intensive theatre workshop for children ages 5-15. Students will focus on improving or developing skills in dancing, acting and singing. This summer we will present the Disney musical The Jungle Book. There will be a lot of chorus numbers, solos and acting parts so that everyone gets involved. This workshop is definitely for the student who loves performing.
We need to know ahead of time if your child will attend so we can arrange for our shirts, costumes and other activities. The first day of camp we will have a short meeting at 8am with students and parents to go over rules and regulations. We will then begin camp with a music rehearsal and tryouts for speaking parts and solos.
